What is the purpose of World Youth Day? If it is to bring more people into the One True Church founded by Christ, or to increase vocations, by all measures then it is a failure. From my viewing post it has the vibe of a happy happy joy joy revival. The posted imagery does not inspire awe and reverence. The benefit is likely more to the host country’s economy rather than the faith lives of the participants.
